Brandt Job is the 2022 Russell Macey Medallist following one of the closest counts in recent memory.
Job polled 83 votes to cap off a stellar season where he was also named in the AFL Hunter Coast’s Team of the Year. Job took his game to new heights in 2022 to be the Men’s Cup leading goal kicker (36 goals) including an eleven goal haul in Round 10.
Job said he is honoured to have been crowned the winner for the first time, and he is excited about where the next few years at the club might take him.
The medal is named after Warners Bay three time premiership captain, Russell Macey who was present to award Job the medal. Macey played 328 games for the club which included premierships in 1984, 1988 and 1993.
Sebastian Thomas finished on 81 votes to finish runner up and enhance his status as one of the finest young talents in the competition.
Josh Taylor took home the most improved award in his first season at the club whilst Tom McDonnell received the Coach’s Award in his first year back after a layoff.
Corey Deverell & Zac Lauritsen collected the Player’s Player Award with Corey also taking home the Most Determined Award.

Jasmine Wellings took home the 2022 Cup Women’s top gong by claiming her fourth Rebecca Sinclair Medal.
Jaz collected seven best on ground performances during a dominant 2022 season to finish ahead of fellow representative teammate Cassie Nugent who was named the Most Improved player.
“Ever since I came to this football club I have fallen in love with this place, to win this award is very humbling,” Wellings said.
Laura Edwards collected the Most Determined Award, Jacinta Anderson collected the Coaches Award, Reilly Treadwell was the Best First Year Player whilst Rickelle Peris was the Cup Women’s Leading Goal kicker.

Veteran Bulldog Simon Rocco collected his first Simon Denham Medal edging out Leo Vo who also collected the Player of the Finals award.
Rocco raced out of the blocks early polling 59 votes in the first 11 rounds. Rocco’s versatility was on show all season with his run out of defence starting countless counter attacks as well as being able to play as a lock down defender which eventually helped the team to a premiership.
Rugby League convert Remy Towart collected the Most Improved Award, Dylan Baxter collected the Most Determined Award, Kyle Ross-Evans was given the Coach’s Award, Sam Rumball was voted as Player’s Player and Ryan ‘the grizzly bear in the square’ Clarke collected the Leading Goal Kicker Award.

Club legend Nathan Brennan was present on the night to announce the Young Player of the Year Award which was presented to Sebastian Thomas and Ava Traynor.
The Club Person of the Year Award recognises club members who has strived above and beyond the normal call of duty for the club in a voluntary capacity during the year for the overall benefit of the club and its members was shared by Alice Chandler and Cassie Nugent. Corey Deverell capped off an impressive night by taking home “The People’s Bulldog” blazer.
Voting Process: Votes are conducted by four members which includes coaching staff, managers and club person immediately after each match in a 5-4-3-2-1 voting structure, with five votes awarded for the player they believed to have been best on ground. A player can be awarded a maximum of 20 votes per game.
