In more positive news for the club, we are pleased to announce the arrival of Elliot Maher who also goes by the nickname “Elvis”. The 30 year old originates from Tasmania where he played for Glenorchy and St Virgils, but more recently played for the mighty Bakers Creek Tigers in Mackay.
Elvis is handy all across the park but prefers to play in the forward line, however he plays his best footy down back as he was voted best backman twice whilst at Bakers Creek and was also voted player’s player. Elvis is a proud Saints fan therefore joining the heart break parade with Bucks and Roachy at Warners Bay. Elvis moved to Newcastle in mid 2018 and came to the Warners Bay Footy Club thanks to a call to Bucks. He has already strapped on the boots twice for the red white and blue in premier grade impressing both coaches. An interesting fact about Elvis is he used to work for AFL great Alistair Lynch at Healthy Business Performance Group, a company that specialises in health management and injury prevention.
We are very pleased to have Elvis join in pulling on the red, white and blue in 2019 and welcome him to the club.
Go Dogs!
